True teamwork occurs naturally when there is alignment to a common purpose; one that benefits everyone, not just those at the top. Leaders who create an environment of mutual support and respect will find that commitment and loyalty are voluntary—not a demand by those in higher positions. People adhere to group standards when they are fair and equitable. However, leaders must also abide by the same standards and not operate from a privileged set of rules designed to benefit only those in higher positions.
Here is an important step:
Give up the need for external validation and personal recognition.  Give full credit and recognition to those you lead. Leaders who believe their job is to be superior are not operating with the authenticity of an enlightened leader. The job of a leader is to empower those being led to perform at their highest level. Humility is a trait of outstanding leaders; arrogance and the need for personal validation are traits of the artificial and insecure ego. Greed is a symptom of the ego’s need for “props†to bolster an image of superiority.
As leaders replace fear with trust and compassion, they will see the success of their organizations increase to new levels of expansion and profitability. More information at www.dannabeal.com
