Thinking of friends far and near this time of year. It is a time to be with family and be grateful for all that we have. I think of the Ukrainian people with their strong will, fighting for their freedom. I believe they are standing for freedom for all of us. President Volodymyr Zelensky is coming to the United States tomorrow to meet with President Joe Biden and he may also have the opportunity to address Congress.
These are grave times in our nation and our world. As each one of us does our own inner work to heal our personal conflicts, we add to the healing of our planet. As we face our inner demons, we build the courage to face the outer demons. We stop projecting our fears on others–different races, religions, genders, political groups, communities, or whole nations. Together we can bring about world peace.
I have often said, heal the relationships in your own family. If you can’t love and respect your family members, how are you ever going to love and respect people across the globe. Enjoy your family, appreciate the differences, and see the golden opportunity to love them just as they are.
I send you best wishes to all my friends for a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
