There is no point in reacting with criticism, anger, blame or demonstrations of power when you are leading others. What may appear as power is actually fear and a need to appear superior–the hallmarks of an ego-driven leader. Leaders who understand their role is to maximize the potential of individuals, as well as the organization, operate from strength of character but gentleness of heart. The wisdom stemming from authentic power emerges and for those being led, it is palpable. People who are honored and respected rise to the occasion, contributing from a well spring of their own talents and insights. So the leader who taps into that potential actually receives the inspiration from those being led which contributes to a mutual engagement and power of group will. Leading with inspiration requires taking down walls of fear and releasing the potential of everyone within the group.  Inspiration is not just something the leader imparts to others; nor is it an adrenaline based, pumped up speech. Leaders who inspire do so by honoring the spirit in themselves and others that is residing beneath the self created identities that battle and compete for power and validation.
