I cannot fully express my thanks to all of my family and friends reading this, who have loved and supported my son and me this year. Most of you know that Kyle broke his neck on Memorial Weekend in a mountain bike accident. It was at the C-2 level and his physicians said it was a miracle that he didn’t die or become paralyzed. He was in the hospital for over two weeks and had a halo drilled into his head. Doctors did not rule out surgery which would limit is mobility permanently until the 4th month. According to his Seattle surgeon, the second miracle is that the fracture is actually healing, and he is now in PT. My gratitude goes out to all of you for the part you played in this process.
During this time, I have learned gratitude for not only the remarkable and amazing miracles but for the small coincidences, synchronicity, kindness, love, and small gestures of compassion every day. In a world of turbulence and uncertainty it is so reassuring to see the good in so many people.
