If you are like most of us, this year has been a rollercoaster on many fronts and in different arenas. For me it has been filled with ups and downs, joys and disappointments, and also, many miracles.
Sadly, I unexpectedly lost one of my very best friends in January. Although an American citizen, Pat lived in Puerto Vallarta much of her last twenty plus years. As her executor and best friend, I spent 6 weeks managing and closing out her affairs in PV. Synchronicity brought many people into my life during that time, especially, my brother, Dan.
Dan left his own vacation in Mazatlán and spent the last two and a half weeks helping me with her house and belongings. During that time, we alternately felt sadness, joy, overwhelm, exhaustion, laughter, and above all, deep satisfaction knowing we were following her wishes. We scattered her ashes in the ocean below the beautiful Casa Karma Boutique Hotel. Since the owner was our friend and we had been there many times, it held special significance.
In September Dan and I went on a wonderful cruise through the Panama Canal for 20 days. We even had a chance to visit our many friends in PV when our ship stopped there for a day. But after getting home, the roller coaster continued when I discovered I had Covid. So, yes, life can have many ups and downs, but miracles and synchronicity show up frequently as well.
